Lately the far left, the Democrats, certain left wing celebrities, ultra liberal newspaper reporters and editors and network news reporters and commentators have been ranting and raving about how President Bush has illegally taken away our right to privacy by signing an Executive Order allowing the National Security Agency to intercept certain communications between people of interest, in the United States, and people in certain other countries. Many of the foregoing are even saying that the President should be impeached. Some are comparing him to Richard Nixon or worse.
School Prayer, Right Or Wrong
In the Bill Of Rights, the First Amendment to the Constitution, titled “Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression” states the following: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech
Should I Vote For The Man?
Voting. It’s how we make our voices heard. It’s how we tell our elected officials what we want the giovernment to do for us. It’s what government buy the people, for the people and all that is about.
Supreme Court Justices Unethical Behavior?
We have all read about Jack Abramoff and how lobbying is done in Washington. Trips, dinners, campaign funding, and other perks paid for by lobbyists in return for favors the politicians can do for their clients.
But our Supreme Court Justices should be beyond reproach. They are not elected, but appointed. They are in that position for life or until they decide to retire. They also should go out of their way to be unbiased and out of the reach of special interest groups, people whose cases might come before the Supreme Court, and lobbyists.
Affirmative Action, Is It Good Or Bad?
This article does not discuss the legalities of affirmative action, I leave that to the courts. This article is solely about the philosophy of affirmative action.
Are You Fired Up About America? Nothing Communicates Like Honesty
One day I was tuning up and down the radio dial as I drove down the Interstate. Time after time, I landed on talk shows featuring callers that were simply dismayed at the direction America is going.
They were frustrated that so many important issues were either being glossed over or ignored by federal, state, and local government. It was clear that a great many people were highly concerned, yet felt helpless to do anything about it.
That’s when I decided to design some …
Attention Democrats
Attention far left Democrats and all the rest, of you Democrats, who are too afraid of the far left or to hungry for power to stand up for America. Stop insulting me, stop ridiculing me, stop trying to run my life, stop trying to take away my freedoms and stop endangering me and my loved ones.
Don’t Confuse Me With The Facts
These days, speaking with most Democrats is like being “Alice, In Wonderland”. Most of them seem to be going under the old saying “Don’t Confuse Me With The Facts”, it seems that many of their statements are based on emotions instead of reality. I used to enjoy discussing politics, especially with people that disagreed with me (I felt that I might learn something new or different.). I still do, but lately I have found that, while I still enjoy discussing politics with Independents and Republicans, I no longer enjoy discussing politics with most Democrats. They almost all say the same things and they sound as if they are reading from a script.
Fast Food : No Legal Recourse
Do you eat fast food? You must. According to the House of Representatives, the fast food industry is a significant part of our national economy. It did not become that way be having few customers. Many independent researches have found that fast food is unhealthy and causes weight gain. This research suggests there is something faulty with fast food. Our nation is becoming more obese by the day and many obese people are attributing their weight gain to fast food consumption…
14 Billion Doesn’t Buy What It Used To
I am not sure how much national attention this story has gotten but there was a tragedy that took place in Bostons Big Dig on July 10th. One of the ceiling panels that are hung in the tunnels of the biggest construction project in the world, the Big Dig, fell and crushed a car killing a woman inside. The panels are 20 x 20 and reports have said they weigh anywhere from 3 to 12 tons.
This is a huge story here in Massachusetts where I live, as it should be. Politicians …
42 Years Later: Remembering JFK
As the old saw states, “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” We lost a great and important part of ourselves on that grassy knoll in Dallas. But we are better people for the elation he gave us, the dreams he inspired, and the deep commitment to our fellow man that he generated within us.
Unheard and Unseen: The Plight of America’s Homeless Poor
It is only when disaster strikes a poor area that the country sees the face of poverty. After Andrew in southern Florida and Katrina on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Mississippi, the omnipresent television cameras caught a glimpse of what it is like to be poor in America. We saw the faces of the forgotten lined up in the Superdome and had to admit that the national dream of success and a comfortable lifestyle does not extend to everyone.
