It’s hard to remember a year that might have topped 2007 in terms of the sheer number of new products Apple rolled out. It started with a bang, as Steve Jobs raised the curtain on the iPhone, which managed to live up to the huge hype that preceded it. Then there was the iPod touch, the new nano, and Leopard. Not all of Apple’s 2007 offerings, however, hit the bullseye.
iPods in the Workplace: Diligence or Distraction?
The most wonderful and irritating thing about iPods in the office, says author Barbara Pachter, is their ability to cut workers off from the real world. “The ‘pro’ part of it is that their music doesn’t really bother other people, and it may help some people focus.” she said. “The downside is that people get so caught up in what they are listening to that they don’t hear others talking to them.”
